Summary:
This episode starts is continued from episode 3 where Nagato tells Kyon that she and Haruhi arn''t normal human beings. She explains Haruhi has the power of auto-evolution, that she has the power to turn nothing to something as well as control what is happening to her surrounding.. Meaning she can destory or remake the world at will. Her (Nagato''s) job is to observe Haruhi which has been her job for 3 years since she was born. Kyon suggests to tell Haruhi of her powers, but Nagato says that if they well Haruhi, that there is a potential for indeterminable risks. So it''s just best to observe for now. Back at the classroom, the next day, Haruhi finally found a "mysterious" transfer student that will join SOS Brigade. The mysterious transfer student''s name is Itsuki Koizumi. Another day passes and she decides to put Mikuru in a maid outfit as well as tell her to wear it everyday. She commands Kyon to take pictures of Mikuru in the maid outfit using a camera. Half way through the pictures, Kyon wakes up and stops what he is doing. After that the day ends.
Saturday arrives and they decide to meet as a group. They meet as a group and divide into two smaller groups. Mikuru and Kyon ended up being in the same group. They walk around town and into a park as they were unable to find or know where to look for any mysterious things. While at the park Mikuru explains to Kyon that she does not belong in this time period. And that she is time traveler from the future. She said 3 years ago a large time fault occured between the time planes so that they were unable to transfer any futher back in time. The cause of it was Haruhi. Her (Mikuru''s) job is to observe if any new time variations will appear. Kyon still thinks this is bogus, and is greatly confused.
Even more things happens as Koizumi reveals himself as an esper. He says he belonds to a agency where there are all espers. He says he sudden had the Esper Powers (ESP) 3 years ago. He calls Haruhi "God" as she has the power to recreate the world at anytime. And anyway that happens is because Haruhi wishes for it to happen. He also explains he can only use his powers when certain conditions are met. Kyon even more confused about everything going around him. Everyone in the club seems to be abnormal human beings.
  
Various Things to Notice/Explainations:
1. When Mikuru and Nagato play Black and white chess, Mikuru seems uncomfortable. This is because she knows Nagato''s real identity.
2. When Koizumi runs in Haruhi trying to make Mikuru''s costume more attractive. He is surprised yet he seems it is normal and tells them to continue (as well as to ignore him). His attitude of never objecting and always agreeing to Haruhi''s demands/idea is constant throughout the episodes.
3. If you pay attention closely to the picture taking of each picture. You''ll find one with a close-up of Mikuru''s breast. And there is a mole on one of them. This mole will be mentioned repeatly throughout the episodes.
4. During the group meeting to find mysterious things, Kyon''s bike is parked at the edge where there is a "no bikes allowed" sign on the floor. When he returns nearest the whole block has "no bikes arrowed" sign on the floor. This could be explained as Haruhi''s penaty for Kyon being late and unable to find any mysterious things.
5. Kyon''s curiousity of age of Mikuru foreshadows something mysterious about Mikuru which maybe later unrevealed in the episodes.
