1. If you want to battle someone, the easiest way to communicate with them is via MSN Messenger. Secondary messengers like AIM and YIM are also great. Posting on the forum or private messaging takes too much time to read and reply.
2. Post your IM screenname(s) in your profile.
3. Battle matches are mostly for the most up-to-date official version of LF2. If you want to use a different mod or different characters, your opponent would have to have the same game data as you.
4. When battling officially or casually, end each game, win or loss, with a "gg" or "good game" or similar message to indicate good sportsmanship.
5. Regular speed players (not playing online) should get used to lag-games. Even if you aren't as good in lag games, the winner of the match will be declared as the winner regardless of the speed you are used to playing.
6. On normal circumstances, F6, F7, F8, and F9 are prohibited unless if both players agree that they can be used. Start each and every match with F3 other wise. The game cheat is also normally prohibited. Louis can transform into LouisEX on normal cicrumstances. Firen and Freeze can also fuse.
7. If the other player pauses the game, wait for him to unpause it. If the player abuses the pause controls (e.g. F2), you may forfeit the match and file a complaint.
8. Battles should be fought mainly on HK Coliseum or Lee On Road since these two backgrounds present the least amount of lag. Other backgrounds may be used if the opponent agrees.
9. Battles should be mainly fought in VS mode where the teams should be equally distributed. The player whose team wins the match is declared winner whether he is still alive or dead. In Stage Mode, after each stage is complete, the person with the most kills is declared the winner. In Championship Modes, the human players should be located on opposite ends of the tree chart. The person that makes it to the top or higher than the other is declared winner. If they lose on the same round, then it is a tie. In Battle Mode, each side should be equal. 10. The important thing to remember is it's just a game and whether you're fighting officially or not, it is for fun.
